2018-2020 In Color Meets Abstract Impressions

This was another make n take at my Open House last week. Which is your favorite new In Color? Mine is Lovely Lipstick. Its kind of a pinky red. I’m going to show you a fun technique. Did you notice the new Big Shot Embossing Mats that are on page 221 of the new catalog? Look what you can do with them. Use your Dies to Emboss. How cool is that.  Make sure you save the packaging in case you forget how to make your sandwich.

I absolutely  LOVE these dies. You can get them in a bundle with the Abstract Impressions and save 10%.

You can see how beautiful the die embosses.  I just added a 2″ x 4″ strip of In Color DSP, half a Pearlized Doily and stamped the flowers from Abstract Impressions another favorite bundle. Make sure when you stamp the solid flower image you stamp off first, then stamp on the circle. Use the highlights full strength. It makes it look like you have two different ink colors. The final touch was a matching bow.

Thank you to Patty Bennett who showed us this technique at my Team Meeting last month. This is the make n take she brought for everyone to do.  She also used the Stitched Labels Thinlits. This is fast becoming a die that I’m using a lot. TIP: When you’re die cutting, put the die face up, then your cardstock, then a clear plate. Roll it back and forth a couple of times. Most all those little pieces come out easily. Also be careful when you separate the die from the paper. The pieces around where it cuts are really thin and tear easily.

Stampin’ Up! posted this video using the Embossing Mats.

Patty’s card uses Grapefruit Grove as the card base, cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. The flower is from the Share What You Love DSP. We just cut a flower out and attached it to the die with a Dimensional. We also added a few of the black Rhinestones from the Faceted Dots. The sentiment comes from the Rooted in Nature stamp set. Its stamped with Mint Macaron. Please use this Hostess Code ZR3CS7C only if your order is under $150. Then you will receive the Stampin’ Rewards. You will also get a FREE gift with your thank you card from me when your order is over $150.
