5 Minute Card

I have a very simple but elegant card for you today. I cased it from Mary Brown. My Stamp Club Gals fell in love with it. And really, in my book, anything you make with the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets is a winner.

Start with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Thick Whisper White card base. You will need another layer of Whisper White cut at, 3 3/4″ x 5″. You will die cut that piece with the Tasteful Backgrounds Dies. You can find these dies and the matching Tasteful Textures Stamp Set (we didn’t use the stamp set) on page 135 of the Annual Catalog.

Stamp your greeting from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set. You can find that set on page 66 of the Annual Catalog. We stamped in Pretty Peacock. Then add Dimensionals to that layer and attach to your card base.

Add a 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Pretty Peacock Cardstock. Now die cut your leaves from the Gathered Leaves Dies on page 47 of the Holiday Catalog, with the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets. I did one in each color. These leaves emboss and die cut at the same time. I just learned a VERY good tip from Kelly Acheson; Because these dies emboss there isn’t any holes to poke out the leaves. What do you do? Drop them on your counter and they just fall out. WHAT?? You might have to do it a couple of times, but it works, no more messing up your leaf trying to get it out of the die. BEST TIP EVER!!!! I curled each leaf with my bone Folder and attached them with Glue Dots at the bottom of each leaf. That way they aren’t flat on your card. I know they won’t be as curled once you put them in an envelope and mail them…..Last detail, add a double Linen Thread bow. Done!

Pretty card that didn’t take you an hour to make…….sometimes you need simple cards like this to be able to make the cards that take longer.
