April 3D Tutorial, Easter Egg Treat Holder

Welcome to our Blog Hop. You are in for a super fun treat. Be sure and follow the hop all the way to the end, you don’t want to miss any of it! Whether you are starting the blog hop here at my blog, or have come from the person before me, be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey through the blog hop. Each month’s Tutorial Bundle includes 6 projects, each written out step by step, with photos, measurements.  You can see a sneak peek of all of them at the bottom of this post.

Here is a sneak peak at my project.

We’re each showing you a second project we created using the products used in our  3D Tutorial Bundle Project.

Now for my alternate project. I am making a Easter Egg Treat Holder, using the Full of Happiness Stamp set on page 44 of the Mini Catalog. Did you know that the Dino Dies work perfect with the Full of Happiness stamp set?

I saw this treat holder on the Stampin’ Up! web site, (I think) or Pinterest. So this is my version. Isn’t it cute? I love the sign.

This is what you will need for the egg. I used the Oval Dies and you will need to use the 2nd biggest die, you will need two and stamp one of them. You will also need the half egg stamped and die cut with the egg die in the Dino Dies. The final piece you will need is the piece that will hold the large egg to the half egg. Its 2″ x 4 1/2″ scored at 1/4″ on both long sides. Notch each side and use your Bone Folder to curve it. This will help when you glue together.

Start at the top (either side) add Tombow adhesive to each of the notches and adhere all the way around.

Do the same thing with the full egg.

Now because we don’t want to see how this went together, add the egg that you stamped (at the top) with Tombow. It looks much better now.

Since I was just wanting to stamp on a small piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I left the Burch Background stamp in the case and inked up just the top. Lay your paper down and rub, Ink again and stamp. Keep doing this until you have the look you want. I did it several times.

Then cut into 3 pieces, 1/2″ x 3″. One will be the post, one you will stamp with Versamark Ink and Emboss with White Embossing Powder and the third one you will cut about an inch off for the top of your post. Now sponge Crumb Cake Ink all all edges.  Adhere the pieces like shown in photo and glue to the inside back of your egg. You want it up high enough so you will be able to read the greeting. I added a Flirty Flamingo Small Bloom Punched Flower, with a Champagne Rhinestone. I also used Wink of Stella on the flower.

Stamp the chick in Daffodil Delight, the eyes with Memento Black & the beak & feet with Pumpkin Pie. Fussy cut the chick and feet. Glue the feet to the chick and add Dimensionals to the bottom half of the chick. Add to your treat box and finish off with a Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon bow and a few Champagne Rhinestones.

Finish off by adding some Paper Shreds to your box and of course some candy!
