Big on Birthdays

It’s that time again, for the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge. This week its Birthdays. My niece has a birthday this month. Perfect!

I haven’t used the Big on Birthday stamp set much, so decided to dust it off and use it. I stamped the sentiment (& flowers) on Watercolor Paper with Black Archival Ink. I have to say I didn’t get a real good image and ended up using my Project Life Journaling Pens (they are retired, but we have new ones that are similar). I just colored in the black with the black pen.

Then I used my Aqua Painter and the ink from the lid to color in the flowers and leaves. I started with Peekaboo Peach around the outside of the flowers and added some Berry Burst for the inside. Then used Lemon Lime Twist & Emerald Envy to color the leaves and tear drops (maybe they are leaves too…). I went back with my Clear Wink of Stella to give everything a little glimmer. Once that was done, I adhered to the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and put a bow around with the Berry Blast Crinkled Ribbon (love this ribbon). Finally I added that layer to the Emerald Envy card base.

I also spattered the Wink of Stella, all over. You can see it in this photo.

And lets not forget about the inside. For the inside I colored same way on Thick Whisper White. Also added the It’s Your Day.Here is my color palette.

  1. Beautiful card, Cindee!! I like the way you used the back side of the DSP that I’ve ignored until now!
