I found the simplest recipe to make Candied Pecans.
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 Cup pecan halves (I always through in a couple more handfuls)
- Combine all the ingredients except the pecans in a skillet and cook over medium heat for a minute or two, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is bubbling.
- Add the pecans and cook for an additional 3 minutes, stirring to coat the pecans in the glaze.
- Remove from the heat, and spread the pecans out on parchment paper to let then cool completely.
- Break apart, and enjoy.
I didn’t cook my pecans long enough and they were sticky even when completely cool. My hubby said, why not sprinkle powdered sugar on them? Yes, it worked and they tasted great!
I found these plastic jars at the Dollar Tree.
I still had a bunch of these houses die cut from another project and since I am trying to use up all the Christmas stuff before it retires, thought I would use them for my tags. I attached each house onto a die cut heart (Be Mine Stitched Hearts, retired). I wrapped the Real Red Sheer Ribbon around the jar and tied into a bow. Then I attached the hearts with White Baker’s Twine (retired), added a Jingle Bell and tied into a bow.
I think they turned out pretty cute! And were easy to put together, especially since I had the houses already die cut. the Trimming the Town dsp is no longer available, but the dies, All the Trimmings Embellishments & Jingle Bells are on sale!
