Here are a few more of the cards Patty and I made last week. You can see Patty’s cards HERE! Our goal was to use the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper (say that fast 5 times), (dsp) with the Carols of Christmas. We also decided to use the Layering Circle, Ovals & Squares, with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. If you need some fast cards, these cards are for you.
The Foil Frenzy dsp coordinates with Berry Burst (like this one), Lemon Lime Twist (last one) & Soft Sky (next one). While these aren’t traditional Christmas Colors they somehow work. Especially when you pair them with our wonderful ribbons.
This one uses the Berry Burst 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. I love that I can make a bow and not just a knot and it won’t add bulk to my card. I stamped the sentiment in Berry Burst onto Very Vanilla cardstock, die cut with the Layering Ovals and added 3 stars (flowers).
Soft Sky is the base of this card, cut at, 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″. Stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I like the contrast with the Soft Sky. Used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut and a layer of Soft Sky cardstock from the Layering Squares.
Did you notice that cut little something just under the Soft Sky Classic Weave Ribbon? Yes, its the new Decorative Ribbon Punch. Used some Silver Foil for that and the little stars (flowers). Adds a nice little touch, don’t you think?
And finally the Lemon Lime Twist dsp. It goes really well with Real Red. So this one is stamped in Real Red onto Whisper White cardstock and die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Circles Framelits. (and yes, I realized that my dsp isn’t centered on the card base. I forgot to take the ribbon off to cut a little off……) The ribbon is part of the 1/2″ Finely Woven 2017-2019 In Color ribbon. It ties a perfect knot. We also added a few Flowers with the leaves onto the sentiment and a few Rhinestones.
So if you have to make a LOT of Christmas cards this year, I highly recommend this card design. You could use different Designer Series Paper, but why not make a statement and use the Foil Frenzy dsp?
