Clutch Purse with Birthday Cards

We had a great time in our Team Meeting on Saturday. As usual I always forget to take photos. I did get this one of Becky & Carol hard at work and watching the Holiday Catalog Videos, (perk of being a demo, we can pre-order a month before everyone else).

This is one of the projects we did. A Clutch Purse that holds 3 cards with envelopes. Thank you to Deb Valder for this great card holder idea.

I did stamp & cut the flower from Healing Hugs twice, and curled the edges. The leaves are also fussy cut and curled up with my Bone Folder. Cutting Guide:

Base: 6″ x 10 1/2″ of Petal Promenade DSP, score with the long side on top at 4 1/2″ & 6″

Cut 2 side pieces: 2″ x 6″,  Fresh Fig cardstock, score with the short side on top at, 1/4″, 1″ & 1 3/4″, turn with the long side on top & score at 4 1/2″

Cut 1 Inside bottom piece, Fresh Fig, 1 1/2″ x 6″

Cut 1 Top Flap Fresh Fig piece, 3″ x 6″ score with the short side on top at 1″. My gals embossed the top flap with the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder. You need to do this BEFORE you adhere to the base.

Fold on all score lines and add Tear & Tape as shown below. These Purses are really simple and fast to make. I added a Velcro Dot in the center of the flap to keep it closed. The  1 1/2″ x 6″ piece of Fresh Fig cardstock goes on the inside to cover up the side pieces that are adhered to the bottom middle of the purse. No adhesive needed.

I kept the cards that go inside the purse easy as well. All of them use the Tufted Embossing Folder for the 1st layer. The 2 die cuts are from the Stitched Seasons Framelits and are available “while supplies last” starting August 1st. See below, I also have a class using the bundle and the new Watercolor Pencils. All of the Roses from Healing Hugs (5)were stamped and fussy cut as well as the leaves, (5). It made putting the cards together a breeze. They all use the White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, which each of them received a roll in their packet. I also “winked” each flower with Wink of Stella.

For this card I used a 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock and embossed the leaves in the Healing Hugs stamp set with Versamark Ink and White Embossing Powder. Then I sponged Fresh Fig & Mossy Meadow all over it. That gets glued to the Tufted layer.

For this card I die cut 2 of the small dies, one in Whisper White and the other in Mossy Meadow. I cut the Mossy Meadow piece in half and layered it behind the White piece. I glued each of the flowers as shown below.

Don’t forget to give your envelopes some love too! I stamped the Rose in Fresh Fig on all three of my envelopes.Supply List:
