Embossing With Dies, Get More Out of Your Dies

Have you ever tried to Emboss with your Framelits, Thinlits or Edgelits? I showing you how in this POST. I did the same thing with this card, except I used all the Snowflake Thinlits in the Snowfall Thinlits Dies. This is one of the swaps I’m taking with me next week to OnStage. I laid them all out on my:

  1. Clear Plate
  2. Merry Merlot Cardstock
  3. Blue Embossing Mat (its the really thin mat)
  4. White Mat (you get a Gray Mat that is thicker, the Blue Mat & the Impressions pad, together)
  5. Then just run through the Big Shot, easy peasy!

I sponged Merry Merlot onto Merry Merlot, just the edges, then I sprayed with Champagne Shimmer Paint mixed with Rubbing Alcohol. I love how the Shimmer Paint makes this color so striking.  Then glue the Merry Merlot piece to the Crumb Cake card base.

You can really see the embossed snowflakes in this photo.

What is really nice  with the Snowfall Thinlits Dies, is you get several small snowflakes. It didn’t take me very long to die cut 20 Gold Snowflakes.

Then I started stamping the trees, sentiment & tree trunks with Versamark Ink, and Gold Embossing Powder  & heating with my Heat Tool. I cut a strip of Crumb Cake to 1 1/8″ which is the perfect size for the sentiment, so I only have to cut in between each one. If you stamp the tree like I did, you can get 7 trees on the 11″ side of the paper. I stamped the tree trunks on a small piece and cut them out. This would be a great way to make a lot of these cards.

I cut the tree using my Stampin’ Trimmer.

I adhered tree down with Tombow Liquid Glue, sponged the sentiment with Merry Merlot and added a piece of  a Gold Metallic Doily before I put Dimensionals on the back. The Snowflake topper has a Mini Dimensional under it and a double Linen Thread bow put on with a Glue Dot. I went back and added a few Gold Metallic Pearls.

Cutting Guide:

4 1/4″ x 11″ Crumb Cake Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″

4″ x 5 1/4″ Merry Merlot

Scraps of Crumb Cake for the tree, sentiment and trunk
