Friends Are Flowers In the Garden of Life

I had this post all done and ready for yesterday and I don’t know what happened to it. So here we go again……

This is a double Z fold card. All measurements will be towards the end. I used the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. This happens to be my most favorite of the six designs. I’ve been hording it….But I wanted to make my friend Patty Bennett a special card. So here we go. I broke out the piece I was hording and paired it with the Thank You Thinlits, A Big Thank You stamp set (sentiment) & Bouquet Blooms Bundle.  Can you tell I “winked” the thank you with Wink of Stella?

I must confess that the Bouquet Blooms flower spray stamp had me stumped. Why? Because if you look at the spray of flowers and leaves, do you stamp it with green, or with a color for the flowers? Well, I finally decided to stamp it with Mossy Meadow. Then I stamped  the flowers in Highland Heather & Fresh Fig on another piece of Whisper White and die cut them. Some I adhered with snail one I added a Dimensional. Problem solved!

This is a side view of my card.

Cutting Guide:

4 1/4″ x 11″ Mossy Meadow Cardstock, scored at 2 3/4″ & 5 1/2″

3 1/4″ x 10″ Fresh Fig, scored at 4 1/2″ & 7 1/4″

3″ x 4 1/4″ Whisper White

2-2 1/2″ x 3″ Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

Now because Patty is special I also needed a tag to put on her scones from Panera’s. I forgot to take a photo of the tag on the bag of scones, so you will have to use your imagination. I used the Petal Promenade DSP and Fresh Fig cardstock along with the Botanical Tags Thinlits. The leaves are from the Rooted in Nature Bundle. I stamped one leaf in Mossy Meadow, then stamped a scrap of Whisper White with the sentiment & the leaves, so just part of the leaf shows, sponged with Mossy Meadow. Then I dragged just the edges of the leaves in Versamark Ink and Silver Embossing Powder, heat set it. Both were attached with a glue dot. Added some of the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls. Love the way it turned out. I also used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners at the bottom of the tag.

  1. Love your card and tag! I always enjoy your ideas and usually case them. I too was’t sure about what color to stamp the flowers. I wanted to use my Blends to color so I went ahead and stamped them in Garden Green, let it dry awhile and then colored with the Blends Markers. It worked. Nothing smeared

Thanks Barbara! You made my day! Glad I wasn’t the only one with what color to stamp that spray of flowers.
