Healing Hugs Birthday Gift Card Holders

I’ve got two important birthdays this week. Courtney’s birthday (our DIL) was yesterday. This is the gift card holder I made for her.  Jen’s birthday is today (our daughter).

I recently received a gift card and thought I should make these for class. But they turned out to be perfect for Courtney & Jen. I might still do one for class.  Forgot to add that when you turn it so the short side is at the top, you need to score it at 1/2″ and 4 3/4″.

So the Healing Hugs stamp set was in my 10 ten of must haves. This flower uses a new kind of stamp for Stampin’ Up! Its called Distinktive. You might remember we had a set in Sale-a-bration that had this type of stamp. Now its beautiful just stamping it, you get a awesome image every time, but I wanted to kick it up a notch. I stamped it three times with Calypso Coral onto Whisper White cardstock. I cut one with the whole stamped image, and the other two I cut off a bit more, so it had the layers of a flower. Then I curled the layers and put each one on with Dimensionals. Turned out pretty, don’t you think?

I added that decorative piece on both sides of the gift holder. Its from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. You can see it on page 189 of the new catalog. I only used the piece on the end. The belly band is 2″ x 9 1/2″. I stamped the leaf image in Calypso Coral Ink onto Calypso Coral cardstock. Then I just put it over the gift card holder so the two ends meet in the front. The flower covers it up. Courtney’s card I needed to mail and I forgot to put the leaves I had stamped and cut out. So mad at myself……I finished it off with the Happy Birthday banner, stamp from the Detailed With Love stamp set and tucked it under the flower. I added a few of the Faceted Dots (page 197) & a double linen Thread bow. Don’t forget to stamp on your envelope. This is the gift card holder I made for Jen. I used Blushing Bride for the holder, and the belly band and flower are Flirty Flamingo. I remembered the leaves for this one and later added some Glitter Enamel Dots (Granny Apple Green, page 197). I also did the flap ends a bit different. I just received the Delicate Lace Edgelits (page 217) and thought they would be perfect. I like it. They die cut so perfectly and all the little bits fell out. Score!

I winked each layer of the flower with Wink of Stella. For Jen’s insert I used the retired Stylized Birthday and stamped another flower. The card slips right inside.Happy Birthday Courtney & Jen! Sorry we are not here to celebrate with you. (We are in Maui). We will catch up when we get home.
