Hello Cupcake

I have to say I had such a nice Birthday. (Don’t forget to take advantage of my Birthday Special, see below) Went to the Gym. Then my friend came over (thank you Lynne M.) and is helping me sew again after so many years of not sewing. Did you know you buy your patterns online and print them, put them together and then cut them out? I had no idea. So we got 3 patterns printed and put together. Next week we will be cutting the fabric and start sewing. After that we went to lunch. Had my nails done, ran an errand, then surprise dinner at Benihana’s with some of my favorite people. I received two awesome flower arrangements. The first one is from my hubby. Its in a beautiful pot, and the flowers are all white and stunning. The card with it made me cry.

And this is from my friend/upline Patty Bennett. Isn’t the truck the cutest? It matches my craft room. And the flowers are beautiful.
Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers. Thank you Patty! Then my birthday continued the next day. (remember its my birthweek….lol) Went to lunch with some of my Stampin’ Friends. We had the best time shopping at Brighton. Sharon at Brighton is the BEST and she ALWAYS remembers my name and how its spelled. BEST customer service EVER! I asked my husband, so what is my “budget” for Brighton? His reply, just buy what you WANT not what you need. I found a beautiful bracelet & a locket. What a guy! He always tells me, he is such a “catch”. Yep he is. We’ve been married almost 41 years. I think I’ll keep him. LOL!

Now on to my fun card. This is one of the cards we will be making in my All Occasions Card Class on Thursday. It features the Hello Cupcake stamp set (Sale-a-bration, SAB) that you can get for FREE with a $50 order. So the BIG question is: Do you like the frosting fussy cut as an extra layer, or not? I’m going with the extra layer, but I know some people don’t like to fussy cut. I love having options.

I just added a 2″ piece of the How Sweet It Is DSP. Love this paper. Its totally my colors. After I stamped the cupcake, I die cut it with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and matted it with a Coastal Cabana Layering Scallop Oval. Added a few of the Gala Gingham Sequins.

The sentiment is stamped with the Stamparatus, using the “hinge” technique. Tip: I’ve found that if my stamps are too close to the hinges, its hard to get a great stamped image. So by placing my stamp further away from the hinge, much easier and better stamped imagine.

Cutting Guide:

4 1/4″ x 11″ Thick Whisper White Cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″

2″ x 5 1/2″ How Sweet It Is DSP

Supply List:

See how you can get “Double Points” this week for my birthday.

First of all! “Happy Birthday”! Second of all, AWESOME birthday card! Thirdly, you have an awesome hubby! Was just wondering, when you”Hinged” stamp your sentiment, did yu start at the bottom and go up, or the other way around? I usually find I’m doing this part backwards! Any tips on how I should follow thru to stamp correctly? Thank you for your share today!

Thank you Gloria! If you look at the photo above, I put the card front all the way into the right corner of the Stamparatus. The sentiment is upside down so it will appear right side up on the card front. If I was using a 4 x 5 1/2 piece of paper it would have been easier. Does that make sense?
