Honey Bee, Sweet Friend

Bees are the thing these days. So I jumped on the band wagon too! This is the last of our Club cards.

Start with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ Basic Black cardstock, 3″ x 4″ of the striped paper in the Golden Honey dsp (you can earn this for FREE during SAB, page 10 of the SAB Catalog), 3 3/4″ x 5″ Crushed Curry & the top layer is 3 1/2 x 5″ die cut with the largest Rectangle Die. All are attached with snail with the exception of the top layer, I added Dimensionals.

Now that we’ve got the base layers done, we can get to the fun part. Stamp the bees with Versamark Ink and emboss with Black Embossing Powder, then die cut with the matching dies. Die cut the honeycombs using Crushed Curry cardstock. You will also emboss the sentiment. Its cut out with the new Label Me Fancy Punch. I added a couple of the stems in Old Olive with my Stampin’ Write Marker, to the sentiment. Color the bee bodies with Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.

Attach the Honeycomb first (I used Tombow Liquid Glue, remember less is more), then the sentiment, and bees all with Dimensionals.

Because the card base is dark, I like to add a Whisper White piece to the inside. Since I’m so in LOVE with the Stitched So Sweetly dies, I used the largest scalloped rectangle. It seems I’ve used them in all of my club cards……I inked up the same stamp I used just the leaves, using Old Olive and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped. It just adds a nice touch to finish off the inside of your card.
