I Have a Video For You! How to Add Metallic Thread

I am trying something new on my blog. I am going to post a video on Saturday’s. Will also do my best to post on my blog, Tuesday through Saturday. Now as I say this (to hold myself accountable) I am posting this video a day late. Since I decided to start doing this on Thursday (3 days ago) and had 3 classes this past week, I just didn’t have time to edit the video before this morning. So next week I will be better.

I’ve had several people ask me, how do you do the thread or Baker’s Twine behind your stamped image or element? So I’ve done a video for you to see how I do it.

Here are the details about my card.

I used the Star of Light Bundle, which includes, the stamp set and Starlight Thinlits Dies. Stamp the Flourish image (for lack of a better name) twice at a angle in Marina Mist on your Very Vanilla cardstock along with the sentiment.

Die cut the star without the detail in Island Indigo and the star with the detail that fits the solid image with the Copper Foil Paper. Adhere together using Tombo Multi Glue. Add Snail around all edges. On the video I showed you how I use the Silicone Mat so I don’t get adhesive on my Grid Paper. Then wrap the Metallic Thread around your fingers, twist in a figure eight and add to your element. Adjust Thread, add dimensionals and adhere to your card front. Add to your card base.

I also showed you how I colored my Metallic Enamel Shapes. I used a BRONZE Sharpie marker.

Cutting Guide:

4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ Island Indigo cardstock
4″ x 5 1/4″ Very Vanilla cardstock
scraps of Island Indigo and Copper Foil to die cut the stars

  1. I just watched your video……you are a star! I like elements of this set….thar fab swoosh! I bought the thicker twisted triple colors of twine! And the Christmas wire…..fun to make the pretty embellishments! Glad that you are doing more videos and blogging…..and that are going slower on your videos…easier to learn and I love that! Hope all is well!
