Let’s Celebrate You

Yesterday was my friend, Patty’s birthday. I won’t say how old, but just know it was a milestone birthday. lol Anyway these are the gifts I gave her. I’m so mad I didn’t take a photo of the fabric basket I made with some other goodies.  I’ll show you my card, tag and the notebook I covered.

I’ve been challenging myself to use some stamps I haven’t used from the pre-order. The Tasteful Touches stamp set sat untouched, until now.

5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Poppy Parade card base (Patty’s favorite color)

4″ x 5 1/4″ Poppy Parade embossed with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder (its in the World of Good Suite)

3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ World of Good Specially dsp

2″ x 3 1/2″ Soft Suede cardstock

I stamped the flowers from the Tasteful Touches stamp set on Watercolor Paper with Black Stazon Ink. Then I watercolored the flowers first with Flirty Flamingo Ink from the lid of the Ink Pad. Went back over part of the petals with Poppy Parade. The center is Crushed Curry Ink. I fussy cut each flower. I embossed the sentiment (from Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set) with White EB Powder and punched with the Delightful Tag Topper. I cut into one flower just a little bit so that it would be on top of the tag and the rest of the flower was behind. The other flower I used dimensionals to pop up. Before adding the tag to the card, I stamped some leaves In Soft Suede from the Everyday Ferns Bundle. Then I die cut some leaves in Poppy Parade and Vellum. Added them to the tag with Glue Dots. Did a 4 loop Linen Thread Bow and added a few of the red rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone pack. All of that is attached with Dimensionals.

I added just a little bit of Wink of Stella to the leaves. And used one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies in Whisper White for the inside of the card. Also stamped one of the flowers in the corner and on the envelope.

For the tag I used the Delightful Tag Topper Punch again and stamped the sentiment with Soft Suede Ink (from Peaceful Moments). Sponged the edges of the tag with Soft Suede. I’ve done a mini photo tutorial on how I did the flowers. I used the Wild Rose Dies. So glad they are in the new catalog.

Wild Rose Tutorial

I added another layer for the Crumb Cake rose. I spritzed all the flowers with Champagne Shimmer Mist (mixed with Alcohol) and crumpled them all up, dried them with my Heat Tool.  Also added some Soft Suede Leaves from the Forever Flourishing Dies (part of the Forever Fern Bundle), just tuck the under the flower with Glue Dots.

Finished off with some Gold Metallic Pearls.

I’ve had this notebook for a while. I bought it with the intention of covering it with dsp and giving it to Patty. I used the Flowers For Every Season dsp and the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon. The sentiment comes from the Field of Flowers stamp set. Added a Small Bloom Punch in Crushed Curry, which is very close to Bumblebee a new In Color. We haven’t been able to order the new In Color Inks yet. Finished off with some Guided Gems.

Her is the back.

Whew! I know that was a lot. Thanks for sticking with me. Hope you enjoyed these projects.
