Needle & Thread Get Well Card

The count down is 3 more days until the 2019 Occasions & Sale-a-bration (SAB) Catalogs go live. Can you feel the excitement? I’m so happy to be making anything but Christmas stuff. Its seems like I’ve been making Christmas cards for 6 months.

So I have a fun card for you today. You might notice the stitching in the background; isn’t it cool? Its a die that “embosses” the stitching lines, no cutting. It adds another layer or element to your projects. So I embossed first on the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Whisper White Cardstock. I added the 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ of  Grapefruit Grove Gingham Gala DSP and a mat of 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ of Grapefruit Grove cardstock to my card off to the left.  Then I stamped the large flower and some of the leaves on Whisper White and die cut them. I have a tip when it comes to using the Distinkive stamps. This actually came from Patty Bennett. These stamps are a bit tricky, so instead of inking up your stamp using an ink pad, use a Sponge Dauber to add the ink. You can really see how detailed that flower stamp is. If your stamp pad is too juicy you won’t see the detail. If it doesn’t have enough ink it could be blotchy. Use the Sponge Dauber and you will be happy with the stamped image. Thank you Patty!

Once you have them die cut and I added a few pieces that are just die cuts no stamping as well in Old Olive. I added the leaves first with Tombow Liquid Glue and then a Dimensional to the large flower. I also added the Old Olive Linen Thread bow. The sentiment comes in this stamp set too. I thought it needed just a little something, something. The Butterfly Elements is perfect. They are from the SAB catalog on page 8.

You can add ink to these babies and it really transforms them. While Patty was over we decided to try out Brusho. SCORE! They turned out so pretty and they matched my card. Woohoo! The final touch was some Wink of Stella, and a couple of the Artisan Pearls.
