Sending You Healing Vibes

Healing Hugs is another one of my favorite stamp sets. This is also know as an Distinkive stamp. It does all the shading for you. My Stamp Club gals will be making this card tomorrow.

Do you see that awesome Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon? When I made the first card, I just added the ribbon. But the second card I dyed the ribbon. I was in a hurry and I ran it over my ink pad. It didn’t get the coverage I was hoping for, but went with it. I ended up all full of ink and I put it on my card too soon. You need to let it dry, then add it to your card. I covered up my boo boo…..

For class I decided to just dye the ribbon with re-inker. Much better results and less messy.

  • grab a baggie
  • Gorgeous Grape Re-Inker
  • Your Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (I had mind already cut for each card)

Add a few drops of re-inker (depends on how much you are going to color)to your baggie, then a little bit of water, add your ribbon. Squish it around until all the ribbon has re-inker on it. I put a glove on and squished it even more, then squeezed the ribbon and laid it on some paper towels to dry.  Easy peasy! I wished I had done this before……

I wanted the center flower to be the star attraction. So I stamped it first. Then I stamped it on a sticky note to use as my mask, (cut just inside the stamped image). Added the mask to the flower I just stamped, inked up my stamp again, stamped OFF, then onto my card overlapping just a bit. Did the same thing to the flower at the bottom. Leaving the mask on, I then stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz.

When you pull the mask off, it looks like your leaves and inked off flowers are behind the middle flower.

To finish off my card, I did a little splattering with the lid of my Highland Heather Marker. Before adding the stamped Whisper White piece, I stamped the stem of leaves (I don’t know what to call it…..) with Gorgeous Grape onto the base that is that is Highland Heather. The White panel is placed all the way to the left. Make sure to add your ribbon BEFORE you adhere to your card base. Then stamp your sentiment with Dimensionals. I also stamped the leaves on a small piece of Whisper White and cut out, I added them to the sentiment banner before I stuck it down.

Cutting Guide:

4 1/4″ x 11″ Highland Heather scored at 5 1/2″

3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Whisper White cardstock

1″ x 3″ Whisper White for the sentiment

Friends are Flowers in the Garden of Life

I love that sentiment. It comes in the Beautiful Promenade Stamp set shown on page 107 of the Annual Catalog. It also has matching Thinlits. I only used the sentiment on my card for my friend Patty. I also used the flowers from the Bouquet Blooms stamp set, page 167, and the new Thank You Thinlits, page 220. Can you can tell I “winked” it, with Wink of Stella? I mounted the Thank You with Dimensionals. Use the edges, they work perfect.

This is a Double Z Fold card. I will give you all the measurements towards the bottom of my post.

I have been hoarding this piece of DSP from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper Package. Its my most favorite of the 6 prints that come in this package.

This is the inside of my card. I have a confession I need to make. I love the Bouquet Blooms stamp set, but feel like that big stamp that includes all the flowers and the leaves is hard for me to use. Do you stamp it in green because of the leaves? Or stamp in a color for the flowers? So, how did I get over this? I stamped it in Soft Sea Foam, and then stamped the flowers in Fresh Fig & Highland Heather and die cut them with the framelits that are in that set. (All of the items I used will be listed below.) Problem solved!

Here is a side view of how the card looks.

Cutting Guide:

Card Base, 4 1/4″ x 11″ Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 2 3/4″ & 5 1/2″

2nd Base, 3 1/4″ x 10″ Fresh Fig cardstock, scored at 4 1/4″ & 7 1/4″

3″ x 4 1/4″ Whisper White (where I put the sentiment)

2- 2 1/2″ x 3″ Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

Since this was a “special” thank you for Patty, I made a tag to go on the bag of scones she loves from Panera’s. I forgot to take a photo after I got the scones. So you just have to use your imagination………I used the Botanical Tags Thinlits to die cut the flower in Fresh Fig. I die cut the bottom of the flower die with the Petal Promenade DSP so it would match perfectly. I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow from Rooted in Nature and die cut them with the matching framelits. Then I dipped the edges in Versamark Ink and Pewter Embossing Powder (retired) and heated them up with my Heat Tool. I attached them with Glue Dots and added a few of the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

More Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper Cards

My friend Patty Bennett and I got together on Tuesday to stamp. We usually each have a few projects to share, and we usually tell each other what stamps we are using. Well, this time we didn’t. Why? I have no clue. So it turns out that we both used the same sets for most of our projects. So I have a couple more cards to share with you using the Petal Promenade DSP.  As I said in my last post, I had no clue what to do with these beautiful wreaths, I’m not sure what to call them……..are they wreaths, framed squares?

So Patty designed the card on the left, mine is on the right. Stamp club will be doing my card next week.

Patty’s card base is Petal Pink, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.  Next layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″ in Flirty Flamingo, then the flower frame from the Petal Promenade dsp and the lace frame from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.

You can see how we did the flower below. Stamp two flowers in Flirty Flamingo, die cut, cut off one the bottom of one flower and add to your other flower with Dimensionals. I “winked” my flower, and you can see we didn’t even take some of the pieces out of the leaves. Gives it more texture. The sentiment is from the Better Together stamp set, its on page 16 of the Annual Catalog. We stamped it in Flirty Flamingo. The leaves were tucked under the flower with Glue Dots.

For my card I used a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at, 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.  The Fresh Fig layer is 4″ x 4″. The smaller framed flowers fit perfect on this square card. I used a Stitched Shaped Circle to mount my flower on. Did it the same way as Patty’s card, except I sponged with Fresh Fig. Added some of the Rose Metallic Thread under the flower. Also used the cap from the Fresh Fig marker to “flick” some ink onto the Stitched Circle. Also “winked” my flower with Wink of Stella.

I just noticed, I didn’t put a sentiment on my card. Will have to do that before the gals in my Stamp Club make it on Tuesday.

Remember you can get the Petal Promenade DSP on sale this month. Its part of the buy 3 get one FREE promotion. See below for details.
