Lilypad Lake Team Swap

This was the swap I did for our Team Meeting last month. I’m loving the Lilypad Lake Bundle, stamp set with matching Framelits. This really was an easy card to put together once you get the Brusho Circles done. Not that they are hard to do, just takes time waiting for them to dry.

The base of this card is Night of Navy, then the Tranquil Tide layer is embossed with the Pinewood Plank (page 223) Embossing Folder and adhered to the base.

I started out with a full piece of Watercolor Paper. Sprinkled Prussian Blue and Moss Green Brusho all over the Watercolor Paper. Then used Spray Starch instead of water,  and placed a crumpled up piece of Saran Wrap over the top, let it dry and die cut my Layering Circles for the sail boats to float in. It does take a while to dry, but it makes the most interesting patterns on your paper. Make sure you tape down your Watercolor Paper with Washi Tape or some kind of removable tape onto a piece of chip board, I used the backing in one of our Designer Series packs. And it does make a bit of a mess, but so worth it. Isn’t it striking?

You can see I used more of this piece for another project.

Next you will want to die cut your “frame”, using one Stitched Shape Circle and one a bit smaller from the Layering Circles in Night of Navy cardstock. I glued the frame onto the Brusho circle. Now its time to stamp the sail boats with Memento Black Ink and color them with Stampin’ Blends. Its easier to color them BEFORE you die cut them. I added the sail boats with Dimensionals, and added the Black Rhinestones from the Faceted Dots (page 197 of the new catalog).

The sentiment comes in the Lilypad Lake stamp set. I added a double Linen Thread Bow with a Glue Dot.You can see the “water” better in this photo. I added some Wink of Stella to the sail boats. The circle is attached with Dimensionals.

Cutting Guide:

5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Night of Navy

4″ x 5 1/4″ Tranquil Tide cardstock

3/4″ x 3 1/4″ Whisper White for the sentiment

Watercolor Paper, You should just do a whole sheet, (you will want to make a bunch of these)

Scraps of Night Of Navy for the “frame”

Open House Brunch

Thank you to all that attending my Open House Brunch on Saturday. We had fun, prizes, food, and make n takes. They all learned two techniques,  Embossing with your dies & Splattering with your marker and the lid. I’m happy to report several of you have already tried these ideas at home!

As always, the calm before the storm.

Some of my samples.

Alyse, Susan & Carol were nice enough to let me take their photos. Alyse & Carol are working on one of their make n takes.I love giving choices. Everyone got to pick which new In Color they wanted to make. What was the most popular? You guessed it, Lovely Lipstick. Its my favorite too!

Do you see the embossed pattern on the card front? I will have more on that soon. So easy, such a WOW!For this one they got to use a few of the new colors. Soft Sea Foam, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather & Blackberry Bliss (old In Color is back). We also used the Detailed with Love Stamp set with the Stamparatus. This one used the Rooted In Nature Bundle. Those leaves have their own embossing die. Too cool! Then on Sunday, it was past time to pick the cherries from our tree. I pitted one whole bowl. I can pit 4 cherries at once. Then you put them on a cookie sheet in the freezer. Once frozen, put them in a zip lock baggie. Now you have fresh frozen cherries all year long. If they last that long. We got 3 big bowls of cherries, still a few more up high to pick.

After the cherry picking, it was on to my HOME kits to go. I’m happy to say they are being mailed today.

You could say I had a busy week-end. Whew! I’m tired. Next, Stamp Club tomorrow night, then get ready for vacation in a week. WooHoo!
