Witty-cisms Thank You Cards

I’m sad that I didn’t use this set more. Its quirky, don’t you think? This is one of our Club Cards for this month. The Witty-cisms stamp set and the Basket Weave Embossing folder are both retiring. You only have until June 2nd or while supplies last. I just checked and as of the 11th, both these items are still available.

5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Crumb Cake Cardstock

2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ Crumb Cake embossed with the Basket Weave Embossing Folder

2 1/8″ x 3 1/4″ Real Red Cardstock die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies

1 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ Whisper White Cardstock die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly DiesBefore adhering the Basket Weave piece I used a sponge and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake Ink. I colored the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with my Dark Real Red Stampin’ Blend. Make sure you let the ribbon dry for a couple of minutes before adding to your card. I love this ribbon (and its carrying forward into the new catalog) because you can tie a bow and it doesn’t add bulk to your card or cost you any more to mail.

I stamped the strawberry and the sentiment with Memento Black Ink and colored with Real Red & Old Olive Blends. I layered the sentiment onto the Real Red and added Dimensionals to attach to the card base.

I then took my Wink of Stella and “winked” the strawberry.

Happy Birthday Dave!

Yesterday my hubby turned 65. WOW! How did that happen? We celebrated with our daughter and grandkids. We’ve all been on lock down for over 8 weeks and the first time they have been over since all this Coronavirus started. California is starting to relax a few things. Made our hearts happy! The kids swam and we had a bbq.

My new catalog products came last week and it was the perfect opportunity to use some new stuff to make a card for my hubby. This is my first project with any new products.

 Forever Fern Bundle

4 1/4″ x 11″ Pretty Peacock Cardstock

4″ x 5 1/4″ In Good Taste DSP (new)

2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ Whisper White cardstock

2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ DSP

Scrap of Whisper white for the label and leaves

This is a brand new stamp set and dies called, Forever Fern & Many Layered Blossoms Dies. They are so beautiful. I stamped the leaves in Pretty Peacock, Garden Green & Pear Pizzazz. Die cut them and tied them all together. I kept making knots in the Linen Thread, so it had a longer tail. I really wanted to tie it into a bow…….That label die is from the Tasteful Labels Dies. These dies are amazing. They all have stitching or embossed edges. The label I used has embossed edges, if you look closely you can see the edges. The sentiment is from Peaceful Moments and this is in the new catalog. Yeah!

And then because 65 is a milestone, I had to use my number dies (retired) for the 65. I had an extra leaf, so I tucked it under the 6.  To finish off the front of the card, I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to spatter ink in the lid in all three colors. You could also use your Stampin’ Blends.

And because I didn’t have a clue what to get my hubby for his birthday (because he buys what he wants, when he wants……), I made him peanut brittle, which is his favorite. I updated his jar with the new leaves.
