Painted Blooms

This card is totally cased from Shelli Gardener (Co-Founder of Stampin’ Up!). Shelli always has such projects. She shared with us at Leadership how to make the ink run a bit and it gives it a totally water colored look, don’t you think?

Can you guess what color the flowers are? They look like Rich Razzleberry, but they are really Blackberry Bliss. The water totally changes the how the color looks on paper.

I used the Shimmer White cardstock which is good to use when you are using Blender Pens, Aqua Painter or spritzing your paper like I did. Make sure when you glue the card front to the card base you use a lot of snail or Tombow. I didn’t, and it was bowing a bit from the water.

You simply stamp the flowers and leaves, then spritz until the color runs. Let dry, (or use your heat gun). I added some Soft Sky Flowers (because Shelli did on her card). They are very subtle. You will notice that little piece of a doily. It is a quarter of one doily that I pleated and added to the back of the sentiment. I also used some of the Painted Blooms Cotton Twine. Take a 6-8″ piece and take the strands apart. Then I put about 5-6 strands together and looped them around the sentiment by putting snail on the back. And I have to say, I hardly ever use Sahara Sand cardstock, why is that? Looks great with this card. Thank you Shelli for your great inspiration!

I have another “Shelli” inspired card tomorrow!
