Rooted in Nature & Brusho Crystals

This card makes a great “man” card. Which is what the gals in my All Occasions Card Class requested. When using Brusho Crystals you never get the same background. And instead of using water to activate the Crystals, I used Spray Starch.

The one thing I say about Brusho is, the Crystals go everywhere when you spray them. I took a box and cut off the top and used it to protect my work space.  Then took a piece of the chip board that comes in the Glimmer paper and set it inside the box. Then I mounted 2 cards (they were making two cards) with Washi Tape. This is key, as you are putting a LOT of liquid on your paper and you don’t want it to curl. After applying the Starch, set a big piece of Plastic Wrap on top of each piece of Shimmery White Paper. Then crinkle it, make it have some folds etc. Leave it on and let it dry. If you get too much starch and its running and pooling, just take a paper towel and wick it so it will soak up the extra liquid. I just fold the paper towel in half and set at the edge of the paper. (wicking).

For this card I added just a little of the Brilliant Red at the top, then blue, yellow and the moss green at the bottom.

Let this dry thoroughly. You can use your Heat Tool to dry, but it changes how the color moves around the paper.

I highly recommend using your Stamparatus to stamp the tree from Rooted in Nature and the sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous. We found that we needed to stamp each element a  couple of times with Memento Black Ink. Make sure to use a strong adhesive to adhere your Shimmery Paper to the Tranquil Tide cardstock. Remember this paper was really wet and wants to curl a bit. To finish off, I added some Black Baker’s Twine, wrapped around twice and tied in a bow.

Fun fact: No Big Shot or Dimensionals were used to make this card. LOL
