When I saw this color combo and cards on Melissa Kerman’s blog, I loved them, and knew I had to case.
Who knew that Basic Grey and Crumb Cake went so well together? I know they are both neutrals, but I never thought to put them together. Can you say “man” card? The bottom two for sure would be great to give to a man.
NOTE: The Stampin’ Blends are not orderable right now. I know, I’m sorry. My hope is that many of you already have the Stampin’ Blends.
Some of the challenges we’re experiencing in maintaining an adequate supply of Stampin’ Blends. Extremely long lead times with our supplier, combined with an unexpected increase in demand, has caused many of our current 27-color offering to go on back order.
At this time, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to make our entire Stampin’ Blends product line unorderable until approximately the end of May. This is not a decision we came to lightly; but with back orders only likely to get worse in the coming weeks, it is in the best interest of the company to temporarily make them unavailable.
This first one has the beautiful flowers in the Springtime Foils dsp. I colored the flowers in Basic Grey & the leaves in Crumb Cake. I always take things so literal. You know, leaves should be green, flowers should be cheerful colors. But I really love the way these neutrals look together. This would also make a great Sympathy Card. The sentiment comes from the stamp set Beautiful Day. I colored the Rhinestones with a copper Sharpie marker. Finished off this card with the 3/8″ Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon. Cutting Guide:
4 1/4″ x 11″ Basic Grey cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″
2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Springtime Foil dsp
1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ Whisper White (sentiment)
1 3/8″ x 3 5/8″ Basic Grey cardstock
Next up this “amazing” card. I started off with a piece of Soft Suede as my card base, added a layer of Crumb Cake that was embossed with the Simple Strips Embossing Folder (its on page 5 of the Occasions Catalog). I took my Smoky Slate and the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends and alternately added color to the stripped dsp. You might not notice, but the “amazing” has an ombre effect. I took a piece of crumb cake paper ( 2″ x 3 7/8″) and I just colored all the way across with all 4 colors, then added a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive to the back, die cut the amazing, “winked” it and adhered it to the smaller Crumb Cake piece. That was layered onto a piece of Soft Suede and then adhered with Dimensionals. The YOU is die cut with Soft Suede.
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Soft Suede Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4″
4″ x 5 1/4″ Crumb Cake, (embossed with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder)
1 1/2″ x 4″ Striped Springtime Foil dsp
1 3/4″ x 4″ Soft Suede
Next I started with a Basic Grey base and added a Smokey Slate layer. This time I used the same Stampin’ blends and colored in a diagonal across the dotted Springtime Foil. I die cut the celebrate the same way as the card above to get the ombre effect. Finished it off with some Rhinestones. Cutting guide:
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Basic Grey Cardstock, scored at 4 1/4″
4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic Grey cardstock
1 3/4″ x 4″ Basic Grey cardstock
2″ x 4 1/4″ Smokey Slate cardstock
Well, what if the neutrals doesn’t float your boat? How about Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight & Calypso Coral? I used my Stampin’ Blends to do the same thing as above. Also added a piece of the Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon (SAB). Then I colored one of the flowers with the light Bermuda Bay and cut it out. Added some Copper Thread to the back and added to the right side of my card. The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Blooms (SAB) stamp set.
