This was a fun challenge for me, since I usually don’t do Patriotic cards. Not sure why. You can play too, click HERE! I originally saw this technique on Kelly Acheson’s blog. You use a straw, your Aqua Painter, & Ink Pads. I thought now cool is this. Its simple to do; You basically squeeze your ink pad to get some ink onto the lid, then mix a lot of water from your Aqua Painter. Load up your Aqua Painter and put it just above your cardstock, then blow into a straw and the color goes right onto your paper. Remember you need lots of water to get good streaks going across your paper. I just realized, there really isn’t any stamping on this card, except the “th”.
I blocked out the upper left side and blew into the straw to get the “stripes”. After they dried I blocked off the “stripes” and took my Night Of Navy Ink Pad and swiped it across to give me the solid blue. I added the stars from the Metallic Shapes.
To finish my card, I used the Large Numbers Framelits for the 4 in Night of Navy and the “th” is from the Number Of Years Stamp set. I also spattered some Wink of Stella on the stripes. Can’t really see it in the photo. Now, who am I going to send this card to? Leave me a comment, (by Friday, 6-23-17) I LOVE hearing from you. I will choose one person to receive this card.
There is plenty of time for you take part of the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge, “Patriotic Colors”.
