I saw these super cute jars in the $3 section of Target a couple of weeks ago, (thank you Lisa Rhine) and thought they would make nice teacher gifts for my grandkids to give. This was the first time using the new Festive Flower Builder Punch (you can save 15% if you get the matching stamp set, page 31 of the Holiday Catalog). There is a large, medium and small petals. I used the small and medium petals for my “sunflower”. Large petal for the leaves.
The Softly Falling Embossing Folder was perfect to emboss the center of the flowers.
We learned this really cool technique while at convention in July. Take a small amount of Tombow Liquid Glue ( I used a clear block, but an empty embellishment case would work too), and add some water with your Aqua Painter and mix it up. Then use your finger and tap the Aqua Pen against your finger so it “splatters” the glue mixture onto your project. Add some Dazzling Diamonds, shake off excess and let dry.
I also found some great pencils to put inside the jar. Some of them had, Way to Go!, You Did It! etc on them and thought they would be perfect for the teachers to give to their students. I added some dried peas or beans to the jar and then 3 flowers and the pencils. The dried peas or beans keep the flowers and pencils upright.
Added a little tag using the Note Tag Punch and the A Little Something stamp set. The ribbon is retired, but went perfect with the jars.
All of the petals were hot glued together and then hot glued onto the pencils. You will have to slice off the erasers in order for the hot glue to stick.
