Today I’m using the Sweet Strawberry Bundle. It comes with the Sweet Strawberry stamp set & Strawberry Builder Punch. The punch punches the strawberry, stem, leaf and the little flower. And I found this fun fold on Rachel Tessman’s blog. Once you do it a couple of times, its easy.
What you need:
5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ of Garden Green or Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4 1/4″
4″ x 5 1/4″ Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper (FREE SAB with a $100 order, you also get the Berry Blessings stamp set)
2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper
4 ” x 5 1/4″ Whisper White cardstock, inside of card
1/2″ x 4″ of either Garden Green or Poppy Parade
Scraps of Whisper White to stamp the strawberry, leaves and flower
Start by adhering the 4″ x 5 1/4″ dsp to your card front. Use a 3″ sticky note in the right front corner as your guide. You will cut 5/8″ down to 3″, flip your card and do the same thing.
You should have an “L” shape cut. Push in the cut piece and fold back so you now have Poppy Parade square on the front and the dsp on the inside. That is the hardest part of this fun fold, and once you get it, its easy. The 3″ sticky note was the key for me. I knew exactly where to cut. Make sure you use your Bone Folder to really crease the corners. Then you can glue under the square to keep it down.
Now the fun part, to decorate the front. I added a 2 3/4″” x 2 3/4″ dsp. Then I stamped a punched the strawberry, leaves and flower with the Strawberry Builder Punch. Before you stamp look to see how each item is on the punch. I used skinny pieces of Whisper White and cut each item separately. I used Poppy Parade for the strawberry, Granny Apple Green for the solid image of the leaves, and Garden Grove for the outline, and Pretty in Pink for both the solid image and the outline image (not shown in this photo). For the leaves on the flowers I cut them apart, see photo below.
For the sentiment I didn’t want Happy Birthday you sweet thing, so I used a piece of scotch tape to block off you sweet thing. Ink up in the Poppy Parade Ink, then take off the tape and stamp. Now it just says Happy Birthday. I used one of the labels in the Ornate Frames dies to stamp on.
Now just add the 1/2″ strip at the bottom and center the sentiment with Dimensionals. I added a flower on the right side with a Glue Dot. The Strawberry & flower have Dimensionals and the large leaf I glued right to the dsp.
I finished off with some Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets.
Make sure you stamp the inside BEFORE putting it inside your card.
Tomorrow I will have a couple more of these fun fold cards using the Berry Blessings Stamp Set that comes with the Berry Delightful dsp for FREE with a $100 order.
The Jan.-June Mini Catalog starts tomorrow along with Sale-a-bration (SAB).
