Sweetly Swirled Get Well Cards

I have one customer (Sheilagh) who had knee surgery and one of my downline (Pamm) had a hip replacement, so I was in need of a couple of get well cards. The Sweetly Swirled was one of the first new stamps I ordered when the catalog went live. This is the first time I’ve used it and really love how my cards turned out. If you look in the catalog on page 57, the samples are very flat. You know me, I always need a Dimensional or Glue Dot so my cards aren’t flat.  So that meant that I had a bit of fussy cutting to do. Fine by me.

I started off by stamping all the elements I wanted to you on my cards. Leaves are Mossy Meadow, flower on the left is Petal Pink, middle, Rococo Rose, and the one on the right is Melon Mambo.

It really didn’t take that long to cut out everything.

I stamped the “wreath” in Soft Suede, and set my flowers where I wanted them to go. Kind of like a “dry” run. This way I could move them around until I liked how they were placed. I started on the left side and added a Dimensional to the Pink Petal flower, used Tombow for the Melon Mambo flower, and then glue dots for the rest of them. Add the Glue Dot to the bottom end of the leaves and that way they can stick up a bit. I switched up the flowers on the right, but using the same idea. After I had placed all the flowers and leaves I thought I should stamp the “filler” stamp in Crumb Cake. I stamped it once and then again right next to the first stamp again without re-inking the stamp. Now ideally, this should be done BEFORE you glue down your flowers.

I finished with stamping the sentiment in Crumb Cake from the Healing Hugs stamp set, and added a triple Linen Thread bow under the flowers on the right. I almost forgot, I added a couple of Rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

For the card below, I changed it up a bit.  Same colors, just did the flowers a little different. I actually like the Melon Mambo flower, where I added two of them right together, makes it look like a larger flower.

These two stamp sets work so well together. Cutting Guide:

4 1/4″ x 11″, Melon Mambo cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″

3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ Rococo Rose cardstock

3 3/4″ x 5″ Whisper White cardstock
