Merry Cafe Hot Cocoa Mug

You may have seen this card yesterday. I put the wrong date in and it posted early before I had put in the text. So sorry for that. But now I have the text done so you can see how I made the card. Isn’t this a fun card? I totally cased it from Monica Gale. I loved everything about it, and it uses the Coffee Cups Framelits. The snowflakes are from Seasonal Layers Thinlits.…

Happy 8th Birthday Anthony!

As soon as I saw this set I knew I would be making my grandson a card for his birthday. This was such a fun shaker card to make for Anthony (my grandson). The look on his face when he opened the card was priceless. I stamped the monster onto Shimmer White Cardstock, which is a good alternative to Watercolor Paper. Then watercolored with Bermuda Bag and Basic Grey (for his pads). Used my Project…

Avant-Garden Thank You Card

I can’t believe that Sale-a-bration is almost over (Friday, March 31st,) and this is the first time I’ve used this flower from Avant-Garden. But it works perfect for the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge, A Favorite April Theme. I think flowers speak April, don’t you? You can play along too: http://suochallenges.com/ So I started casing Kimberly Van Diepen’s card, but really my card looks nothing like hers. The only thing that is the same is the…

Big On Birthdays

This was a fun Club Card we did this month. Pretty simple too! First we used the Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay Watercolor pencils and scribbled onto the Shimmery White cardstock. Took our Aqua Painter and blended the colors. Let that dry, then stamp the Happy Birthday with Black Archival Ink.  The Birthday Candles come from the Window Box Thinlits. There are 3 of the square dies, hearts, dots and candles. It was so easy…

Watercoloring Lifting Using the Swirly Bird Stamp Set

Saturday is my oldest granddaughter’s birthday. She will be 11 years old. Not sure when that happened…….That really makes me feel old! So, keeping with the Watercoloring Lifting technique, I decided to use the Swirly Birds Stamp set. So I was thinking circles and this set works out perfectly. I used Mint Macaron and Dapper Denim, and added the color at an angle. I shared the video from Brandi (at Stampin’ Up!) with you yesterday…

Thoughtful Branches Thank You

This is another card my Club Gals made this month. We did it a little different this time. The base of my card is Soft Sky. Then a layer of the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Paper, that I brayered in Soft Sky. You can see this POST where I have a video showing you 3 ways to color this paper. For the Hydrangea I used a Sweet Sugarplum flower, then stamped in Sweet Sugarplum onto…

Time for the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge

The challenge is “Cute & Cuddly”. I thought the Pretty Kitty was purrfect, (get it? LOL). You can play along too: http://suochallenges.com/ This card is for my niece who has a birthday next week. I used my Aqua Painter to color in the kitty and flowers onto Shimmery White cardstock. Did you know Shimmery White cardstock is the next best thing to Water Color Paper? It doesn’t pill like Whisper White and its shimmery. The…

Water Colored Rose Garden

This is such a fun technique. Did you know you can use your Wink of Stella to watercolor? Yep you sure can! My Club Gals did one of these cards and loved it. I used both Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo as my card bases. Also both Gold and Silver Foil to cut the Rose out. We just used the outline for this card. Here is a mini Tutorial for you. Since I didn’t take…

Stampin’ Up! Only Valentine Card

This weeks challenge was a Valentine Card. You can play along too: http://suochallenges.com I started off with a Wisteria Wonder card base cut at, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. Then, because I wanted to watercolor a bit, I used a piece of Shimmery White cardstock cut at, 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Fun Fact: Did you know that you can use Shimmery White cardstock in place of Watercolor Paper? I wouldn’t use it all the time,…
