Wedding Invitations

My son and his fiance are getting married next month. They asked me if I would make their invitations, so I put a few different ideas together and let them choose. This is the one these chose. Unfortunately most of these stamps and dies are discontinued, they were current when I designed them. Just didn’t want to share until I knew everyone received their invites. I only needed to make up 15, but my Big Shot was acting up and I had a lot of die cutting to do. I called Stampin’ Up! and told them that it seems to be skipping in the same spot every time. I tried all different sandwiches and still not cutting in some spots. Since my Big Shot was still under warranty they sent me a brand new one, priority mail. Did you know that Stampin’ Up! has a 3 year warranty on the Big Shot? I had my new Big Shot in record time. Thank you Stampin’ Up!

This is the front. This is a tri-fold card. 5 1/2 x 11″ scored at 3″ & 7″. Their colors are red & vanilla, (I know, like you couldn’t tell…..). The Very Vanilla flower is from the So Detailed Thinlits. The belly band is 1 1/2″ x 9″ and stamped with the flower from So In Love in Real Red Ink on Real Red Cardstock. I put a Vellum flower under the the flower and ran the new 3/8″ Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon through the center. I used my hand held circle punch for that. One thing that was a life saver was the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. You can find them on page 203 of the Annual Catalog. So much easier than having to glue each flower and the flowers from the So Detailed dies. I just peeled off the backing and set it on the die cut flower, DONE!

This is the inside. They are getting married in Las Vegas. Its a small wedding and reception. We printed the announcement on our new Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock and added a piece of Vellum over the top and added the faux bow. I didn’t want the invitations to be any bulky than they already were.  For the card on the right I used  the smaller of two Detailed Floral Thinlits. I used the Fine-tip glue pen to add adhesive to just the sides and bottom so the reception info could slide right inside.

Looks like more than just 15 invitations, doesn’t it? I’m telling you, those adhesive sheets are the BEST!

Here is a closer view of the flower on the belly band. This ribbon was perfect for these invites.I delivered all the invites, envelopes and the stamps they needed to send them out.

Here are all the items I used to make the invitations:
