Your Kindness Means so Much

It really does. I love when you leave me comments.

I love the Sunflower framed like it is. This is one of the Note Cards we made on our Stampin’ Cruise. Jenn Gulch did a fantastic job on all the projects she had for us while we were out at sea.

This is also the perfect card for the SUO Challenge, What is your favorite product from the Holiday Catalog? You know that I LOVE the Painted Harvest Stamp set with the matching Leaf Punch. While I love so many things in this wonderful catalog, the Painted Harvest is my most favorite. This was a fun card to make. We used our new Vanilla Note Cards (they are on sale 15% off, today is the last day), added a small strip of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper and then that frame. OMG! Why don’t I ever think to do this? The Stitched Shape Framelits and the Layering Squares make the cut out square. The sunflower was stamped with So Safron (I can’t remember the last time I used that color) and Crushed Curry and cut out. Both the frame and the flower are popped up with Dimensionals. The final touch is adding the leaves punched out in Vellum & Old Olive. Don’t forget to stamp the sentiment, also in this stamp set.

I hope you take time to take this challenge: http://suochallenges.com/

Don’t forget to show me some love!

Acetate Treat Holders

I made a few of these treat holders. This one was for my friend Lynne. It was for her birthday.

Have you seen the Acetate Card Boxes that are on page 13 of the Holiday Catalog? Did you know you can cut them to whatever size you need/want? That’s what I did for my treats. I ended up going to Cost Plus World Market for my treats. I wanted something a little different. Yes, they cost more, but unless you are making up a whole bunch, splurge a little.

I measured how tall the treats were and cut the boxes a bit smaller so they would stick out. I just used my marker and ruler and drew the line, but them out with my I don’t care scissors. So now you have two boxes. You’ll want to cut them flat, so don’t put them together until after.

For this one, I wrapped a piece of the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper around the box. You will adjust the size according to how tall your box is.

I stamped the sunflower from the Painted Harvest stamp set twice, then cut them both out. The top layer is mostly the smaller stamped area. Make sense? After I cut them, I used my bone folder to curl them up. Added a couple of the Leaves punched out of Vellum to the back of the flowers. Then mounted that on top of a Gold Metallic Doily. I wrapped the Twine Jute around the Designer Series Paper and then attached the flower with Dimensionals. Since there was no where to place the tag, I stapled it to the candy and tied a Linen Thread Bow. The Just For You is from the Merry Little Labels stamp set with the matching punch, Everyday Label. I always add some paper shreds to my treat and then put the treat in. For me, it just adds a nice little touch.

Next I cut my box a little bit bigger for this candy and I used the September Paper Pumpkin Stamps along with the leaf from Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I embossed the leaves with Copper or Gold Embossing Powder and colored them in with a Sponge Dauber in Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry & Pumpkin Pie. I stacked the leaves with Glue Dots and tied a triple bow with Linen Thread. Just make a bow with 3 strands of the Linen Thread. I also added one of the Year of Cheer Embellishments. All of that was added to a Gold Metallic Doily. Make sure you add your Designer Series Paper and for this one I used the Burlap Ribbon. Add your shreds and then your candy.

Here is another one. I gave these to our wonderful waiters on the cruise we went on last month along with a little cash.  Who doesn’t love a little chocolate to go along with some $$$$?

I unraveled the Jute Twine ends of my bow.

Here is one box I didn’t cut. I ended up putting orange Salt Water Taffy inside the box. I just stacked the pumpkins & leaves and put them on a Gold Metallic Doily. These treat boxes just can’t be easier. You really don’t need a lot of supplies to make them.

Today is the last day to save 15%.

I love your framed Painted Harvest, Cindee! Really makes it all ‘pop’, and thank you for reminding me of this sentiment. I need to make some thank you cards on behalf of a community group that makes meals for people once a month. A number of supporters have given us quilts to give away, so I was asked to make thank you cards. That sentiment will be perfect! Thank you for all that you share.
